SHOUT OUT!

I want to give a shout out and a huge THANK YOU to Pilgrims Pride!

Sherry contacted me with a proposition.  If Pilgrims has a success quarter they typically party.Carrollton is hosting their meeting this year.   Instead  they offered for do some volunteerism.

Pilgrims purchased the supplies to build children's back-packs. We filled the bags with two entrees, two breakfast items, fruit, peanut butter and crackers, snacks, chips, and a drink. We built about 175 packs.

Special thanks to Gary, Dee, Aaron, Mickie, and the head of the Wisconsin Team (her name escapes me).

They personally gave donations totalling $325. We took those funds and reinvested it in food.

This was a great experience.   It was awesome to get corporate  sponsor support. Much thanks to Sherrie. Krystal, and Patsy!  You guys are awesome!!!

GIVING HEARTS INC- 2024 RECIPIENT OF A “POWER OF THE PURSE” GRANT

The “Power of The Purse” Fund was established in 2009 through the COMMUNITY Foundation of WEST Georgia. The Fund has provided more than $156,000 to 44 local organizations that serve women and children’s needs in the West Georgia area. The Funds not only promote philanthropy within the community but also improves the community by strengthening community relations.

Giving Hearts presented a project for funding. The proposal was to help support grandparent's “Hunger Needs within their immediate household.” Upon observation, many Seniors were raising Grandchildren on a limited income. The Pantry became a welcomed relief providing “kid-friendly” food items. Based on budgetary restraints, the supplies of children-centered foods were limited to the shelves. The funding from the grant was utilized to specifically purchase additional food that met the criteria for this category.
